Welcome 2nd Graders!

Hello and welcome to the 2nd Grade! I had a very exciting summer. I was able to be an extra in the upcoming film Revolutionary Road starring Leonardo DiCaprio. I also went to many NY Yankee baseball games. We traveled to Cape Cod, Newport, Block Island, Stonington, Albany, NY, Watch Hill and Misquamicut, RI. We also visited the NY Jets Training Camp at Hofstra University. In addition, we also visited the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods and spent time tutoring this summer.

I am very excited to start another school year. There are 16 children in Grade Two this year. We are happy to have 3 new additions to an already great class.

School is already in full swing. The class has settled in and is working very hard. In Religion, we have been reading our books and will soon begin lessons for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The parents meeting for Reconciliation is September 18th at 7:00PM.

In Reading we have read the first story along with our workbooks. In Phonics, we will be using our workbooks daily. We completed a lesson about dinosaurs in Science class and we are learning map skills in Social Studies. We will continue to study capitalization and punctuation in English class and will be using flash cards to do addition and subtraction in Math class. Weekly Spelling tests have begun and will continue.

Upcoming events/trips:
