We had an in school field trip called " My Bones". We were shown different animal bones: moose vertabrae, a deer skull, a wolf tooth, a bear skull, cats teeth, a bear fang and a fox fang. Then we were shown x-rays of different animal bones, a frog, turtle and a snake. We also learned the difference between herbivores and carnivores. We then did a craft making a skeleton.
Science: Our seeds continue to grow and sprout. We are amazed that our seeds are growing without any soil. Our observations continue even after the ten days are complete.
Math: Chapter Two continues to be challenging. Please remember to review addition and subtraction facts daily.
Social Studies: We are studying Natural Resources and how important they are. I enjoyed reading the paragraphs each child wrote about how they could improve their community. Some of their ideas were: to clean up the parks of litter, build a recreation department, build another animal shelter and carpeting for the classrooms.
English: We are learning how to use expression and color words when we write. We are working on writing a descriptive paragraph about our favorite thing. Do you know what your child's favorite thing is? Be on the look out for their descriptive paragraph about this topic.
Thank you
